Chronicle VII - Medical Checkup
On the 18th Feb, I went to NUH for my medical appointment. As it was my 4th time, I hoped they could conclude the whole matter and just give me a PES status. Turns out it was not meant to be as the result was me being assigned 3 more tests which would be carried out over the next few months! I 1st had to take an ECG test; something that involved attaching wires to my body and measuring my heart rate. The lady attending to me was very pretty by the way. I then went to see the specialist in charge of my case which turned out to be not so pleasant. There was a student in training which the doctor was helping to give her some experience for an upcoming exam. The test subject: me. The trainee being anxious to show the doctor her knowledge, overdid certain things. She almost crushed my wrist while feeling for something and pulled my bottom eyelid way over, all just to show the doctor! That doctor didn't comfort me thereafter either but rather added on to my worries. He said "We would like to get data from when you actually faint. But you don't faint everyday, so we might have to do a tilt-table test where we will make you faint. It'll be interesting to see whether there are any symptoms during your unconsciousness such as your heart rate stopping for a longer period of time or abnormal blood pressure." Eh? I don't find that interesting at all doctor.
