The mighty may fall [twice], but they didn't earn the right to be called mighty for nothing. IPPT Gold has been achieved yet again. After my exams last trimester, I decided to go for morning runs about 4 to 5 times a week. It was actually a classmate of mine who inspired me to start running.
And after 2 months, the effort paid off. When I saw the timing flashed on the board during my 2nd last round, I calculated that the possibility of Gold was very real. It gave me the extra rush of adrenaline to finish the last round. The elation of finally getting Gold again after failing for 2 years is indescribable. The $400 incentive although extremely welcome was actually secondary in terms of contributing to my joy. Pride always comes 1st.
Just finished the 1st 2 assignments for this trimester. The pace is stating to pick up again. One of the module in this trimester is pretty tough and the danger of failing is very real. The good thing is that I will be rather free pretty soon after the PSLE and final examinations end next month - unless I get a job. After seeing through these students for this year, I am starting to reflect on my teaching methods. It just seems that I have been doing something wrong but just can't put my finger on it. Guess that won't matter if I stick to my decision to stop giving tuition next year and get a proper job!
Recently I went hiking in Bukit Timah Hill with F. It felt good to be able to be close to nature for a change and doubled as a short get-away. C, F and myself have all been rather busy with academic work lately. This has put off the plans to go out for F's birthday. Oh well, we will have our chance.
