"POP lo!!!". Thursday 27th May marked the end of my trainee life. I'm now a commander albeit being at the bottom of the chain. Starting Monday, I'll be reporting to Changi Air Base. Unfortunately, I still do not have a clear understanding on my job scope and working hours. Still, I'm willing to bet it'll be much better than trainee life. Looking back, the rank sure didn't come easy. BMT, SISPEC, 2PDF and lastly MP Command. I'll reach the 1 year milestone in my National Service soon and the journey till now has been rather tough. Our field camp in MP was short but tiring. Moving hundreds of sandbags, ramming iron pickets and laying Constantina Wire was no joke. The blistering heat was also a killer. We thought it was all over until we had to rehearse our parade for 3 days straight. It was worth it as the parade commander came from our formation. F actually came to grace my parade; what a guy! My family and F then went for dinner.
This month happened to be C's birthday too. F and I(me) settled on a Mont Blanc Pen and a MP5 as his presents. They were duly presented to him at Kallang Leisure Park on 22nd May. We tried to no avail to break a certain high score from an arcade machine, went for a bowling session and watched the movie [Shrek Forever After].
