After a long while, my dog seems to be getting better. Previously, aside from being half-blind, his skin seems to be cracking up and he would bleed from his whole body. It would be made worse whenever he tried to scratch his wound where he would just splatter blood on the floor. My dad would always curse and swear trying to clean up the blood stains. After spending a huge amount of money for him to go through scans, no one could tell us what was wrong. One day, when we brought him to have his haircut, the hairdresser for my dog told my mum that he/she had seen the same case with his/her dog and had it cured at a certain clinic. My mum took her recommendation and brought the dog over. They requested to keep the dog overnight as they said that it was too serious and they needed to constantly apply and reapply a special cream onto his skin. Thankfully, it seems to work somewhat and while there is still the occasional bleeding whenever he scratches his skin, it is becoming less frequent. Many nights, I have seen him shivering whenever the wind blew against his skin. It not because he was cold, but simply because the wind caused his wounds to hurt.
Things are starting to pick up at work again and everyone is becoming more and more busy. It doesn't help when you have clients who aren't appreciative and can be rather sarcastic. It caused AS to cry in the office again. These crying episodes are becoming more and more frequent which is certainly not healthy.
The girls also can't seem to get along with JA for some reason. They would complain that he is creepy and condescending. For some reason, the higher-ups like him though. Based on my assessment, he seems to be pretty harmless although he can be quite whiny at times. Having spent most of his life abroad, I imagine it will be hard to connect with us Singaporeans.
I have taken leave for August/ September and would very much like to go overseas during that period. If only C and F would quickly make up their minds on where they want to go, we can start planning and actually have something concrete to look forward to.
My sister has gotten back her A Level results, and save for General Paper, has done rather well. I'm not sure if I should be discussing her next course of study at University? I have generally adopted the "hands-off" approach with my sisters. She says that she might follow my elder sister to study psychology, but then I'm just worried that she's making that choice simply because she doesn't know what to do at the moment.
After going advisor shopping, I have finally decided on one. Hopefully, all my financial items like insurance, savings, investments etc. will be taken care of. I am too lazy to bother with these.
On that note, LAB, AS, and I are considering each opening an investment account with Maybank to invest in some of its funds.
The Analysts also said that we should plan for a weekend Batam/ Bintan trip now that we are relieved of our Saturday duties. LAB told me that they will need to get back to me on a date after they determine when would be a convenient time for girls to be playing water sports. Ok...
[Quotes]
"It is unwise to pay too much, but worse to pay too little;
When you pay too much, you lose a little money, that is all.
When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything,
because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the things it was bought to do.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot.
It can't be done.
If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is as well to add something to the risk you run.
And if you do that you will have enough money to pay for something better.
There is hardly anything in the world that someone can't make a little worse and sell a little cheaper - and people who consider price alone are this man's lawful prey." - John Ruskin
