Our base seems to have no lack of visitors recently. All the big shots' visitation has caused us numerable inconveniences. The preparation required always has us forfeiting our rest and extending our duty timing to handle it.
I took my IPPT just a few days ago. To think Gold would elude me at the 2.4km run again! I just can't accept it. I ran very hard and came in 1st. However, it still wasn't enough to reach the required time. At least one of my man passed the IPPT though. Considering his stay in the squadron, that is quite a achievement. Standby Training was rather fun though. To relieve the experience of fire movement, proning for cover, tactical movement, and charging with rifles in hand, gave me the consolation that I'm not rotting away at National Service.
The day has come for me to be finally free of duties (for a while anyway). I'm going over to Korea to experience winter and to relax and calm my nerves before I go crazy. Despite the uneasy tensions between North and South Korea, it still beats being in my squadron hands down. Onward to my great escape!
